I hear you, but you know what, if that's how it has to be then tell me how I can get it to show that ip address right there the 192.168.0.1 then. So, I reset the router to default then did the same thing that I did was go though the wizard again, then restarted it like it said, followed all correct steps, and matched tit for tat, and now it's showing my cox ip address instead of the 192.168.0.1. I just used the wizard on the login page and that was it. I'm it's in the config on the router somewhere, the only thing is that I didn't do anything at all last time. All I know is that I had no problems with them asking about what I'm doing until I re-installed windows and re-connect my router. I do have it to assign an ip address automaticlly.

This is the main machine that I'm talking about, I'm just saying that it changed, and since it change I now received a letter from the cox cable company saying (I'm downloading where I'm not suppose to) in other words I need to get it back the way it was. That's the point for the router so I can get more Ip address. and I know the router is for connecting more computers as each of my machines go up at least one digit when I connect them. I mean anyone will tell you to punch in that ip to log into most modems, and your telling me that that's my internal ip? just wondering. This is what I get:Ĭorrect me if I'm wrong, my understanding of my internal ip address was the address that you saw when you had your computer hooked up without the router, and that's why I thought the router ip address was the 192.168.0.1 I mean like isn't that the standard login for most modems? I'm kinda lost here, maybe you can shed some light on that for me.

I mean I know how to hook it up and everything so that it all works fine, I'm just trying to understand it more.
